This Lord's Day

I wrote the following as a conclusion to a presentation I made at the Central Kitsap Church of Christ while serving there as an elder, shepherd and pastor. In it I hoped to convey the depth of my desire to worship the Lord, Jesus Christ. In so doing I also hoped to encourage others to do the same for it was Jesus who, while delivering what we call the "Sermon on the Mount" said:
" 13"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."

May any praise offered as a result of the reading of "This Lord's Day" be wholly and soley in favor our our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
To those who have not yet surrendered to and put thier faith in Him I encourage to do so and thus become a child of the one true God.

For your encouragement - "This Lord's Day" written by my hand, inspired by faith in Christ.

This Lords Day
Lane Ormerod, 05/14/2006

This Lords day I hope to see
The one who cherishes and welcomes me
Comfort and caring, patient he
Tower of strength, love, humility

Into a world wrought with illusion
You send your child, no more confusion
For years to come you’ll hold my hand
Teach me to sit, to crawl, to stand

From trouble you’ll guard and pain protect
But not completely - lest I forget
You’ll stand by me this I know
Encourage me to walk, to run, to grow

In Your arms transformed from child to man
Guided by your love, your strength, your hand
All I have become and all I will be
Has been molded and shaped by your love for me

For t’was with outstretched arms you rescued me
And so for this gift of grace I plea
To meet the one who cherishes and welcomes me.
